Version 26.8.4 — 15 September 2026

  • New pricing: 1-year plan 15,000 ₫/month billed for 12 months (180,000 ₫); lifetime 799,000 ₫ with 3 years of updates. Monthly price in the Licence dialog, smaller QR code, stray-character fix.
  • Free-edition ad: new banner presenting O3O Doc, Sheet, Slide and PDF in the interface language; click the image to buy; explanatory line removed; "Remove ads — buy a license" is the default button.

Version 26.8.3 — 14 September 2026

  • Licensing: live prices in the dialog; bank QR only (no intermediary branding); the user dialog keeps only the key entry field.
  • Certificate and invoice: downloadable after activation; public verification page. Company customers enter a tax code and the registered name and address are looked up; administrators can upload the provider's e-invoice.
  • Languages: ten interface languages with a native-name chooser; ads follow the interface language.
  • Defaults: Times New Roman 13 pt / 11 pt, wider spreadsheet cells, no "default format not registered" notice, one-click Set as default application.
  • Interface: darker Undo/Redo and disabled icons.
  • Website: enterprise landing pages in Vietnamese and English, screenshots, per-application guides, terms, privacy and payment policies; feedback page with weekly hall of fame; administrators see every installed machine.

Version 26.8.2 — 14 September 2026

  • Word processor renamed O3O Doc; Windows shows O3O Doc / Sheet / Slide / PDF in Open With and Default Apps.
  • Desktop shortcuts, launch after install, tray preloading with Windows start-up.
  • Vi / En and Light / Dark buttons on the quick toolbar.
  • O3O Sheet: drag whole columns or rows to move them.
  • Free edition always shows an ad, also offline; O3O-branded payment QR.

Version 26.8.1 — 14 September 2026

  • Licensing: full-featured free edition with ads; 1-year and lifetime plans by bank QR in-app or on the web; key entry.
  • Vietnamese interface installed on every Windows machine; Start menu shortcuts; branded About, Licence and installer; help links to office.o3o.vn.

Version 26.8 — 13 September 2026

  • First release of O3O Office for 64-bit Windows: O3O Doc, Sheet, Slide, PDF; Vietnamese interface; tabbed toolbar; .docx/.xlsx/.pptx by default; compatible fonts; tray preloading; full-window File tab; per-application accent colours.

Platform timeline 1985–2026

  • 1985 · StarDivision and StarWriterMarco Börries founds StarDivision in Lüneburg, Germany, and releases StarWriter, the line's first word processor, initially for Z80/CP/M and then DOS.
  • 1992–1995 · StarOfficeStarWriter, StarCalc, StarDraw, StarImpress and StarBase are bundled as StarOffice for Windows and OS/2, sharing one component architecture.
  • 1996 · StarOffice 3.1First multi-platform release: Windows, OS/2, Solaris, Linux and Macintosh.
  • 1998 · StarOffice 5.0A fully integrated suite; StarDivision makes it free for personal use.
  • 1999 · Sun Microsystems acquires StarDivisionIn August 1999 Sun buys StarDivision and releases StarOffice 5.2 free of charge in 2000.
  • 2000 · OpenOffice.orgOn 13 October 2000 Sun publishes the entire StarOffice source code under an open-source licence, founding the OpenOffice.org project.
  • 2002 · OpenOffice.org 1.0First stable release (1 May 2002) for Windows, Linux and Solaris; community translations, including Vietnamese, follow.
  • 2005 · OpenOffice.org 2.0 and OpenDocumentThe OASIS OpenDocument Format becomes the default; in 2006 ODF is approved as ISO/IEC 26300.
  • 2008 · OpenOffice.org 3.0Opens Office Open XML files (.docx, .xlsx, .pptx), native Mac OS X build, multiple documents side by side.
  • 2010 · Independent community branchAfter Oracle acquires Sun (January 2010) an independent open-source branch under MPL 2.0 / LGPL v3 is founded by the international community and keeps a six-month release cycle to this day.
  • 2011–2012 · Apache OpenOfficeOracle donates the OpenOffice.org code to the Apache Software Foundation, which continues it as Apache OpenOffice under the Apache 2.0 licence.
  • 2013–2025 · ModernisationThe MPL/LGPL branch adds Skia rendering, 64-bit Windows builds, a tabbed interface, deeper OOXML compatibility, digital signatures, PDF/A export and year-based version numbers.
  • 2026 · O3O Officeo3o.vn builds O3O Office on this foundation for the Vietnamese market: O3O Doc, Sheet, Slide and PDF, Vietnamese interface, bank-QR licensing and local support.
