MoraKey 1.4: flexible tone marks, typo correction, Vietnamese in ALL CAPS and 1,408 shortcuts
The MoraKey 1.4 series (versions 1.3.4, 1.4.0 and 1.4.1) is a major upgrade to the input method. Tone marks typed slightly out of order still produce the right word, common slips are corrected automatically, you can backspace to a broken letter and fix its mark in place, and typing in ALL CAPS now produces Vietnamese for document headings. A built-in library offers 1,408 common abbreviations, and starting with 1.4.1 MoraKey updates itself with digitally signed installers.
New features 8
MoraKeyFlexible tone mark entry
Type a mark slightly out of order and you still get the right word, as long as there is a vowel to carry it: nguwoi → người, muaw → mưa, cuawr → cửa, ruouwj → rượu. No English words are affected.
MoraKeyAutomatic typo correction at the end of a word
MoraKey fixes common fast-typing slips: a missing horn on ơ/ư, an extra key (toooi → tôi), a missing h (ngề → nghề), a missing y (chuển → chuyển), and a missing circumflex in iê, uâ and uô. It only corrects words that would otherwise come out broken and never touches words that are already correct.
MoraKeyFix tone marks in place with Backspace
If a mark lands wrong, just backspace to the broken letter and retype the mark; there’s no need to delete and retype the whole word.
MoraKeyVietnamese or English, chosen by context
When a key sequence is both an English word and a Vietnamese one, MoraKey looks at the preceding words to decide: in a Vietnamese sentence sex → sẽ, been → bên, car → cả; in an English sentence they stay as typed.
MoraKeyType Vietnamese in ALL CAPS
With Caps Lock on, typing COONGJ HOAF XAX HOOIJ produces CỘNG HÒA XÃ HỘI, handy for the uppercase headings used in official Vietnamese documents. Acronyms such as API, HTML, NASA and CEO, Excel function names and units of measure are left as typed. This can be turned off separately with the Type Vietnamese in ALL CAPS option.
MoraKeyLibrary of 1,408 text shortcuts
Starting with 1.4.1, the shortcut library includes 1,408 common abbreviations: government agencies and organizations, place names for Vietnam’s 34 reorganized provinces and cities, legal terms and official paperwork, business, accounting, tax and finance. Agency names follow the 2026 government structure and use the capitalization rules of Decree 30/2020/ND-CP, Vietnam’s standard for administrative documents. Chat-style abbreviations are kept in a separate set that you can turn on when needed.
MoraKeyShortcuts follow the capitalization of the key
Type a shortcut in lowercase to expand it as defined; capitalize the first letter to capitalize the result (Cty → Công ty); type it in ALL CAPS and it stays as typed without expanding.
MoraKeyAutomatic updates
Starting with 1.4.1, MoraKey checks for new versions, downloads the installer in advance and opens the Update MoraKey window. Businesses can set an update policy for all their computers: off, notify only, or fully automatic.
Improvements 5
MoraKeyTypo Correction group in the control panel
The four typo correction options are grouped together, each with its own example, so you can see exactly what it does before switching it on or off.
MoraKeyEnter and Tab complete a word like Space
Pressing Enter or Tab after a word is now handled like a space: see you soon + Enter no longer leaves sôn, and 100dd + Tab gives 100đ.
MoraKeyBetter recognition of Vietnamese syllables
The list of valid syllables grows from 2,428 to 6,739, so many rare words are recognized correctly while proper names and acronyms stay untouched.
MoraKeyQuieter startup with Windows
When starting with Windows, MoraKey only places its icon in the tray instead of opening the control panel.
MoraKeyCommon English words left untouched
Starting with 1.3.4, common English words are kept as typed when mixed into Vietnamese text.
Fixes 2
MoraKeyCorrect typing for quên, quản, giếng and capital Đ
Fixed quên coming out as queen and quản as quarn, and fixed words such as giếng, gìn and Giêng (the first lunar month), as well as the capital letter Đ, that could not be typed.
MoraKeyMenus and icons no longer break after hours of use
Fixed an issue that could make Windows menus, windows and icons display incorrectly after about 8 hours of continuous use (1.3.4).
Security 1
MoraKeyDigitally signed updates
Release information and installers are digitally signed and verified before installation; MoraKey only accepts installers from MORA’s official source, never downgrades, and does not send a device ID when checking for updates.
